Broadway Theater

Broadway Theater or Colloquially Broadway is among the most notable theaters located in Theater District in Manhattan. It can accommodate 1761 people at any given point in time. The majestic theater was designed by renowned architect Eugene DeRosa. Façade and the interiors of the theater feature Italian Renaissance style of architecture. Today, this theater has become a “must visit” attraction in New York. All through the year, several musical and theater plays takes place at Broadway. In the past, shows like Lion King, Shrek the Musical and Mamma Mia had spread their magnificence in this theater.

Gershwin Theatre

This Broadway Theater with the capacity of 1933 seats is one of the largest theaters in the city. The beautiful Art Nouveau structure was designed by Ralph Alswang.  It was opened in 1972 as Uris Theater and the first show was Via Galactica with Raul Julia as the main protagonist. Between 1974 and 76, it was one of the top notch places in the city to enjoy jazz and pop performances. In 1983, Uris Theater became Gershwin Theater.

Imperial Theater

List of Broadway Theaters is incomplete without Imperial Theater. It was opened on December 25, 1923. People enjoying New York holidays in Manhattan never miss out on visiting this majestic theater. Most popular plays that took place in the theater are Annie Got Your Gun, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Dream Girls, Fiddler on the Roof and Billy Elliot the Musical. Well known actors who had performed in this theater are Hugh Jackman, Lucie Arnaz, Mary Martin, Ben Vereen and Danny Kaye.

New Amsterdam Theater

The theater was built in 1902-03 in well known theater district of Manhattan. Architecture firm Herts & Tallant designed this theater. In the past, the theater had been a home to various theater groups and companies. Some of them are Civic Repertory Theater and Ziegfield Follies. It has also been used as a movie theater. Exterior of the theater is typical example of Beaux-Arts whereas the interior allows you to take a look at Art Nouveau.
